A prosperous city

There is a prosperous city far far away
Where for thousands of years spirituality has held sway!

In this big town called Pandharapura
Lives a Sahukar (rich landlord) called Vithoba

His mansion is bigger than the biggest palace
And there he lives with his consort Rukmai

The many rooms in his mansion are occupied
By many famous personages of the town

Their names I happily narrate
As I think longingly of the house of my lord

Nivritthinath,Jnandev,Sopan, Muktabai
Namdev, Tukaram, Ghora Kumbhara and Savata Mali

Then there are Choka Mela, Damaji Pant
Also with them is the goldsmith Narahari

In other part of the mansion there are
Samartha Ramdas and Gajanana of Shegaon

There is also the son of Anasuya as Shreepada ShreeVallabha
And there is Shree Nrusimha Saraswathi born at Lada Karanja

There are also Shree Swami Samartha of Akkalkot
And Manik Prabhu of Humanabad

There is also my Sadguru the delightful fakir  Shree Sainath from Shirdi
There is also the weaver poet Kabir and his guru Shree Ramdas

Then there are Shree Brahmachaitanya from Gondavale
Along with Shri Shreedhara Swamiji the Avadhoota

There is also Purandara Dasa followed by Kanaka,
And a retinue of other dasas in the landlord's service

Along with Shree Sainath are Narasimha and Radhakrishna
These people are dear to one and all in this great city

In the creascent shaped banks of Chandrabhaga
Lies the heavenly mansion of my Lord Vithoba

I want to go to this great city to make my fortune
I longingly wait for an opportunity to visit this great city

The benevolent Vithoba distributes gifts which are priceless
By going there I hope to become rich beyond measure.

Blessed are those who resort to the feet of the Sadguru.The Sadguru protects us like a mother. His attention is ever on his children and he never allows them to be hurt ever! Today another incident proved that the Sadguru is ever looking after his devotees. Today I was in great agitation at my own helplessness and I was afraid that my image was tarnished for no fault of mine. But then Sainath came to my rescue and calmed the raging storm within me. I woke up today after a small nap. I was awakened by a phone call. A dear relative had called over the phone and the person seemed to be upset that I was fit enough to visit the Sai temple during Guru Pournima and yet I was not in a position to visit them. Om Jai Sai Ram! Om Shree Swami Samarh ! One must have firm faith in his sadguru . By fully surrendering one's mind,body and actions to the Sadguru ,one can sail smoothly in the ocean called samsara (life), which is full of tornadoes and hurricanes and reach the destination, viz union with brahman . As long as we have the "I" or ego, it is indeed hard for us to cross this ocean of Samsara . I therefore submit my ego to my Sadguru , and pray to his lotus feet, to help me sing his glory, which has no beginning and no end. All the scriptures of all the religions world over are not sufficient to describe his splendor and glory and fully describe him. I bow humbly to the lotus feet of Shree Gurudeva Dattatreya , and pray to him, who has looked after my like a mother to guide me. He alone is mother,father,friend, brother. He is all in all.
